Mission and vision of the ECPFO is to serve the cause of environmental consumerism in achieving environmental justice movement. It is well reflected in the articulated views of India’s Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh who in his kind message to the inaugural issue of the International Journal of the Environmental Consumerism (IJEC) 2005 aptly said:
Alarming deterioration of environment arising out of reckless exploitation of nature and unsustainable path of development has caused worldwide concern. Efforts for awakening people’s consciousness to protect environment and adopt practices for sustainable development have to be taken to save mankind from disaster emanating from ecological crisis (June 13, 2005).
The mission and vision of the ECPFO is to foster the doctrine of International Environmental Consumerism (IEC) worldwide as this potentially oriented doctrine enunciates that human race is one composite family and inherited the planet Earth in common with common values towards nature. IEC aims to defend the vital interest of present and future generations equally and restrain excessive exploitation of natural resources and habitat destruction by man for his high life style. In other words, it is directly linked with green democracy based on green patriotism to save the planet from on-going man-made ecological disaster or catastrophe in one form or the other.
The mission and vision of the ECPFO is to promote environmental transformation through the doctrine of IEC.
